“Celestial No. 4” is the last painting in a 4-part series celebrating the clear night sky of rural Appalachia and how closely tethered we are to what’s within and beyond our solar system.
Carbon, stardust, universe particles, call it what you will—the material space is knitted together with travels through our blood vessels, it is a part of the tree that learned to grow on this planet, was farmed, cut into pieces, glued together, and covered in woven fibers to have pigment placed upon it by an earth creature describing how it makes her feel to see globes of gas so clearly in space. A reflection pool. All I know and don’t know is swarming in the textured nebulas on this woven fabric.
